Zheng Qinwen stuns Madison Keys with a spectacular rally at the US Open and Anisimova also loses
xCruzo Brief
Olympic gold medalist Zheng Qinwen continued her comeback at the U.S. Open with a dramatic rally, winning the final seven games to beat No. 22 Madison Keys 1-6, 7-6 (3), 7-5 on Saturday. Zheng overturned a first-set loss and closed strongly after a tense second set. Keys had looked like a fighter in the previous round, when she fought off five match points in a three-set win decided by a tiebreak. But two days later, she couldn’t finish. After Zheng held, Keys had a match point while serving at 5-1 and failed to convert. Amanda Anisimova was eliminated as No. 10 when she lost to No. 24 Anastasia Potapova 6-2, 7-5.
