Brown a veteran presence for Arkansas wide receivers

CJ Brown is positioning himself as a veteran presence for Arkansas’ wide receivers as fall camp gets underway in Fayetteville. Now in his third year with the Razorbacks, the Bentonville native is the longest-tenured receiver group member and recorded 28 catches for 319 yards and three touchdowns last season. Wide receivers coach Larry Smith said Brown has evolved from a “lead by example” into more of a vocal, guiding presence for both teammates and younger players through the first five practices. Brown is also expected to be a key piece of Arkansas’ passing attack despite the program still lacking a confirmed starting quarterback less than a month before the season. He credited a simpler playbook under Tim Cramsey after last year’s complex system with Bobby Petrino.
