Reaves stays with Lakers for $185M | Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
Austin Reaves will remain with the Los Angeles Lakers after agreeing to a four-year contract worth $185 million, according to an Associated Press source familiar with the talks. The agreement is not yet official for Reaves, who will decline his $14.9 million player option for the upcoming season to complete the extension. The 28-year-old guard is described as one of the most successful undrafted players in recent NBA history, raising his scoring average every season over his five-year career. Last season, Reaves averaged 23.3 points, 5.5 assists and 4.7 rebounds, despite missing significant stretches due to injuries that carried into the postseason. The Lakers’ season ended in a second-round loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, with Luka Dončić sidelined by a hamstring injury. General manager Rob Pelinka indicated both sides had effectively decided on an extension. Reaves is from Arkansas and was a Lakers fan as a youth.
