Ex-Premier League footballer from the Thames Valley arrested

An ex-Premier League footballer living in Ascot has been arrested by Hampshire Police on suspicion of drug‑driving, dangerous driving, possession of a Class C drug and failing to provide a specimen after a Lamborghini crash on the M3 at about 9 am on Thursday, May 28. The driver, 31, from Berkshire, was bailed as enquiries continue; there were no reported injuries and no other vehicles were involved. Sterling, who currently plays for Feyenoord, began his career at QPR and Liverpool, debuted for England in 2012, and joined Manchester City in 2015 for about £49 million, later playing for Chelsea before a free transfer to Feyenoord. He has 82 England caps and 20 goals.
