NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's contract extended for four more years

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will remain in his role for four more years after the league made his contract extension official Sunday. The 67-year-old’s extension runs through March 31, 2031. The new deal is tied to negotiations over a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, since the current one expires at the end of Goodell’s term. League owners agreed to the terms, with New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft—chairman of the compensation committee—saying the structure is heavily performance based, with more than 95% of total compensation linked to metrics. Salary figures weren’t disclosed, though Goodell has previously earned upwards of $60 million annually. It’s his fifth extension.
