Surrey Football Club helped launch the inaugural Qualico Cup at South Surrey Athletic Park, running Aug. 28–30. The tournament, created by Surrey Football Club, the Badwal Family, and the Pooni Group, brought teams from across the Lower Mainland and British Columbia for a friendly competition ahead of the regular season starting in September. Organizers said the event was designed to emphasize player development, meaningful competition, sportsmanship, and community. Both girl and boy teams played within their age brackets for trophies and medals presented by professional Whitecaps players.
