Apple to kick off Ternus era with its biggest-ever slate of new products
Apple is preparing what it calls its biggest run of new device releases, starting next week at its Sept. 9 “Surprise and Shine” event. CEO John Ternus will take the stage to unveil updated iPhones and Apple Watches, with further products continuing into late 2026 and early 2027. The company plans major shifts in form factors and even new product categories, building on a pipeline developed over the past half-decade. Ternus replaces Tim Cook as CEO on Sept. 1, days before the event. Reports outline key expectations: a foldable “iPhone Ultra” with an internal large screen, passport-sized folded dimensions, an expected price over $2,000, and an A20 Pro chip with an in-house C2 modem, plus new iPhone 18 Pro models and Apple Watch Series 12/Ultra 4 updates.
