Arrested in separate burglary investigations at Woodland's County Fair Mall

Five people were arrested in two separate burglary investigations at Woodland’s County Fair Mall, police said Thursday. The first incident was reported on August 24 at about 7:19 p.m., after mall employees monitoring surveillance cameras spotted suspects moving electrical wire in a shopping cart near the mall. Officers located a gold-colored SUV with three Sacramento residents inside—49-year-old John Saveng, 43-year-old Jakizza Morgan, and 58-year-old Hope Edadiz—along with heavy-gauge copper wire and burglary tools. More wire was found in a cart near an unsecured entrance, and evidence consistent with wire theft appeared in an electrical room. The stolen wire was valued at about $1,000. Officers also found drug paraphernalia. The suspects faced burglary, conspiracy, and other property and drug charges. In a separate case, two people were arrested for trespassing and possession of burglary tools after security observed activity near the closed Gottschalks building.
