Corinthians website hacked and 'announces' Messi signing

Corinthians’ official website was hit by a cyberattack early Saturday (31), after which the site displayed a fake announcement claiming Argentine star Lionel Messi—currently with Inter Miami—had signed with the club. The false post attributed the supposed move to “historic financial engineering” and said the contract would run through the end of 2027. Corinthians responded quickly with an official statement clarifying that the attack did not cause financial losses or data theft. As a precaution, both Corinthians’ website and the Neo Química Arena site were temporarily taken offline, but services have since been restored. The club said it is working to strengthen security protocols across its digital platforms.
