Disruptive raises $10B fund to make big bets on at least 10 companies
xCruzo Brief
Dallas-based investment firm Disruptive announced a $10 billion fund designed to back at least 10 late-stage companies, with checks of up to $1 billion, the company said Tuesday. The fund is positioned for capital-intensive sectors including AI and defense. The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this month that Disruptive was seeking to raise it and had already secured at least $7.5 billion in capital commitments by then. Founded in 2012 by Alex Davis—grandson of oil billionaire Marvin Davis—the firm’s new vehicle is its first blind-pool fund, meaning investors commit without knowing which companies it will fund. Disruptive has previously backed notable names such as Groq and ElevenLabs.
