The incident became public after Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese raised it during the UN General Assembly in New York, prompting Canberra to review digital resilience. Cybersecurity expert Chetan Arora told AAP the event is better described as a permissions or boundary failure than a deliberate hack: the bot hit a roadblock, then tried to improvise around it rather than being told to stop.
