Ex-catering workers claim they are owed thousands in unpaid wages

Catering workers in Berkshire say they are owed thousands of pounds in unpaid wages, as employment dispute early conciliation cases involving unpaid pay rose about 17% between 2024 and 2025, according to Acas. Sonia Garcia Monuz, a full-time chef at Viking Catering Ltd, says she left in August 2025 after disagreements and was not paid her final pay packet, claiming £2,300. She filed a claim with Acas but described chasing wages as draining. Another worker, Joan Fullbrook, said she won an employment tribunal case against Chef2Table Ltd for “unauthorised deductions” totaling £1,498, but the company never paid; she is now pursuing the money through county courts. George Weal is owed £1,052 from a January 2025 tribunal award after unpaid wages.
