macOS 27 Golden Gate officially ends Intel Mac support and will run only on Apple silicon machines. The update arrives this fall, with an English Siri AI beta to follow. Intel Macs will still receive security updates through 2029, but major software upgrades stop for older models. Compatible models include MacBook Neo (2026) and other Apple silicon Macs released since 2020. Not all compatible Macs gain the full Siri AI features; strongest capabilities require an M3 chip and 12GB of unified memory, excluding lower-RAM units. EU users will access Siri AI from day one, while iPhone and iPad users await regulatory decisions under the Digital Markets Act. The fall launch is expected to be accompanied by ongoing updates for supported devices.
