Federal Agents Reportedly Tracked Down an Anti-ICE Dad in a New York Hotel. It's Not Clear How
Federal agents reportedly tracked down David Streever after visiting another person connected to speech about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), but details of how they located him remain unclear. Streever appeared to be the second person in a matter of hours, following poll worker PaigeLynne Gonyea, whom officers attempted to contact this past Tuesday. The article says officers found Streever two days later at a New York City hotel; Streever had been abroad at the time of the first attempt. It cites his account that he sent a critical letter to acting ICE director Todd Lyons in January, without threats, and that agents told his wife they were there to issue a warning about the email. Streever said he returned from Finland through JFK and did not go home to Rochester, sleeping instead at the New York hotel. The report also notes that agents reportedly left business cards and did not answer questions, while Streever said he plans to ask his credit card company to investigate how he was found.
