HarmonyOS 7 Beta Opens to 50 Devices: Agentic AI Arrives, App Check Required

Huawei opened the public beta of HarmonyOS 7 on Monday for owners of more than 50 supported smartphone, foldable and tablet models, its widest first-day enrollment window so far. The catch is strict: HarmonyOS 7 runs on a pure microkernel with no Android compatibility layer, meaning apps not explicitly rebuilt for the platform simply won’t run—there’s no APK fallback. The beta, delivered over the air as version 7.0.0.105 SP10, was announced at Huawei’s all-scenario launch event in Guangzhou, where it also unveiled the Mate XT 2 tri-fold flagship.
