High street brands hit by cyber attack
The Foschini Group (TFG), owner of UK fashion brands Phase Eight, Hobbs and Whistles, has been hit by a cybersecurity incident affecting parts of its UK IT systems. TFG said it became aware of the issue on Sunday, impacting those three brands within its TFG London subsidiary, while it reported “no reason to believe” that payment information is at risk. Stores remain open normally, though some brand website capabilities may be unavailable during the investigation. TFG said it has notified UK authorities and that operations in TFG Africa and TFG Australia were not affected. The incident follows a week after Asos disclosed unauthorized access to personal data, and comes amid reports that H&M was investigating claims of a Shinyhunters-linked attack.
