Historic Cobb County cabin to undergo $340K restoration

Cobb County, Georgia, has approved a major restoration for the Power-Jackson Cabin, a historic structure dating back more than two centuries in East Cobb. The Marietta Daily Journal reports the county agreed in 2023 to repair and restore the cabin and then approved dedicated funding the following year. Officials will use SPLOST, or Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, money to finance the work. The restoration is expected to cost about $340,000. The stated goal is to preserve the historic cabin and ensure it remains standing for future generations.
