Lincolnshire dog lovers taking on Zambezi River challenge
xCruzo Brief
Three dog lovers in Lincolnshire are swapping leads for oars to take on a 120 km (75 miles) Zambezi River challenge, paddling one of Africa’s largest waterways. Kelly Magee, 49, who runs Immingham Dogs Home in North Lincolnshire, will join volunteers Erica Fox, 39, and Ryan Day, 40. They aim to raise funds for the charity, which nurtures and rehomes dogs and relies solely on public donations, Erica said. Although they describe themselves as amateurs at kayaking and canoeing, the group expects rapids and close encounters with crocodiles, hippos and elephants. Over several days they’ll paddle dugout canoes, inflatable kayaks and rafts, camping along the riverbanks.
