Lions won't limit Jahmyr Gibbs' workload: 'He probably wants more'
xCruzo Brief
Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Drew Petzing played down concerns about Jahmyr Gibbs’ workload as the No. 1 running back returned to practice one day after appearing on the injury report for the first time this season. On Thursday, Oct. 29, Petzing said there is no set cap on Gibbs’ touches, whether in the Lions’ upcoming game against the Minnesota Vikings or over the rest of the season. Gibbs ranks third in the NFL with 134 carries and leads with 166 offensive touches, despite Detroit (4-2) playing one fewer game than 22 of the league’s 32 teams. Through six games, he’s on pace for 471 combined carries and catches since James Wilder’s 1984 mark of 492.
