NVIDIA Unveils First Windows PC with In-House CPU

NVIDIA is stepping into the Windows PC CPU arena by unveiling a chip-based PC at Computex 2026 in Taipei. The move comes in collaboration with Microsoft and Arm as the companies expand the Arm-based Windows ecosystem. Observers expect the NVIDIA-powered Windows PC to surface at Computex alongside updates at Microsoft’s Build Developer Conference. The device is reportedly planned for inclusion in Microsoft Surface and in systems from major manufacturers such as Dell. Computex runs June 2–5 in Taipei, while the MS Build conference is scheduled for June 2–3 in San Francisco. NVIDIA has been designing CPUs that run Windows using Arm technology, and the announcement would mark the first instance of an NVIDIA chip serving as the main processor in a Windows PC. Industry analysts say the move could broaden Windows CPU options and expand the Arm-based Windows ecosystem, traditionally led by x86 rivals and Arm-based designs from Qualcomm. Currently, Intel and AMD dominate the Windows laptop CPU market, with Qualcomm supplying Arm-based Windows CPUs; NVIDIA’s entry could shift the competitive landscape. The companies posted a joint message on X stating 'A new era for PCs' with coordinates for Taipei, underscoring the teaser nature of the reveal.
