Scotland 'snake watch' ends after 7-foot boa, 4.5-foot ball python are found safe

A “snake watch” in a neighborhood of Glasgow, Scotland, ended after authorities and residents found two escaped pet snakes safe. The 4.5-foot ball python and a 7-foot boa constrictor were recovered unharmed a day after the owners returned from holiday and discovered they were missing on July 7. Neighbors were alerted via the Shawlands Community Facebook group, where the owners noted the reptiles could be hidden inside the flat or possibly elsewhere in the building. Radio station Clyde 1 also publicized the appeal on July 8. Before the update, the search had been described as frantic, but both snakes were ultimately located nearby—one in a drawer and the other in a neighbor’s kitchen cupboard.
