Strengthens AI push with Microsoft partnership, Nvidia approvals

LG is intensifying its AI push through new collaboration with Microsoft and Nvidia, spanning cooling, AI infrastructure and “physical AI.” LG and Microsoft signed a partnership agreement Monday at Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington, with LG chairman Koo Kwang-mo and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella attending. The companies plan to work on AI data center infrastructure, AI transformation (AX) and physical AI. LG will supply cooling, power and IT infrastructure as Microsoft expands data centers, and both sides also discussed prefabricated modular facilities. In AX, LG plans to roll out Microsoft AI and cloud platforms across its white-collar workforce, including Microsoft 365 E7 and Copilot. For Nvidia, LG Electronics said it received certification for a 2.5-megawatt liquid cooling CDU for deployment on Nvidia’s DSX AI factory platform, following prior approvals for 600-kilowatt and 1-megawatt units.
