T-mobile customers will have to pay monthly fee for iOS 27 feature
Apple released iOS 27 on Sept. 14, but T-Mobile customers will face an extra monthly charge to use one of its new features. MacRumors reports the carrier will charge $5 per month for iOS 27’s iPhone Handoff. Apple describes iPhone Handoff as letting users use one phone number across two compatible devices, noting it can be used on only one device at a time. The feature is supported by T-Mobile as the only U.S. carrier currently offering it. The number behaves differently from IDs, corporate badges and certain transit passes, while payment cards and car keys in Apple Wallet can work across devices. iPhone Handoff is not the headline feature: the iOS 27 launch emphasizes “Apple Intelligence” and an improved Siri, plus new Audio Intelligence and later-in-the-year Health app updates.
