Tata Electronics cyber incident: What we know so far
Tata Electronics cyber incident: What we know so far details a ransomware claim involving the Indian semiconductor and electronics manufacturer. A spokesperson for Tata Electronics said the company identified a cybersecurity incident on some systems a few weeks earlier, and that response protocols were deployed immediately with no impact on operations across its businesses. The disclosure follows reporting that the ransomware group World Leaks published more than 200,000 files totaling over 630 GB on its leak site. Reuters said the files allegedly include engineering documents, manufacturing specifications, emails, logs, and employee records, and that some contain references linked to Apple and Tesla. World Leaks, described as an extortion-linked group, typically threatens to publish stolen data unless demands are met. Tata has not said when the breach occurred, how attackers accessed systems, or whether customer data was affected.
