xCruzo Brief

Utz Quality Foods has issued a voluntary recall in the United States of certain limited varieties of Zapp’s and Dirty potato chips after it was notified that a seasoning containing dry milk powder may be contaminated with Salmonella. The seasoning batches tested negative before use, but the company initiated the recall out of caution, based on the ingredient supplier’s action. Utz said no illness complaints related to the affected products have been reported to date. The recall is limited to specific batch codes listed for 1.5oz, 2oz, 2.5oz, and 8oz bags of Zapp’s and Dirty varieties, available at retail nationwide. The recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Consumers are instructed to not eat the products and to discard them, with refunds or questions handled through Utz Customer Care.
