York fish and chip business wins national award | YorkMix
Millers, a York fish-and-chip business with locations in Haxby and the Shambles Market, has won a national award for sustainability. The company received the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) UK Awards at Fishmongers’ Hall in London on Wednesday night. It won the national sustainability communications award, credited for promoting fish sourced sustainably and for the impact of its sustainability work. The award was introduced for the first time. David Miller said the business is proud to be MSC certified and emphasized helping young people understand sustainability so “we can continue to have fish into the future.” Millers serves only MSC-certified fish and posts sustainability videos on social media. At the same ceremony, Tesco won MSC UK Supermarket of the Year and Sainsbury’s took ASC UK Supermarket of the Year.
