Falcons updated 90-man roster following trade for Wanya Morris
The Atlanta Falcons completed a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, sending a 2027 sixth-round pick to KC in exchange for offensive lineman Wanya Morris and a 2027 seventh-round pick. Morris, 25, has appeared in 43 games with 16 career starts for the Chiefs, and while he won't be expected to start in Atlanta, the former third-round pick still has upside. Morris excels as a run-blocker but struggles in pass protection, which isn't uncommon for young offensive tackles. The Falcons signed former Chiefs offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor to start in place of former first-round pick Kaleb McGary, who announced his retirement back in April. The trade will bring Atlanta's roster total up to 91 players, requiring a cut to create space. The move, part of general manager Ian Cunningham’s strategy, follows Taylor’s addition and signals continued roster reshaping as the team prepares for training camp.
