Fundraiser for family injured in M9 crash exceeds €730,000

A GoFundMe set up for the three sisters and a young boy injured in the M9 crash has topped €730,000, after an anonymous donor pledged €10,000. Mayo LGFA says it will donate all proceeds from online ticket sales this weekend to the fundraiser, as 19 LGFA club championship games are scheduled across the county at Senior, Intermediate and Junior levels. One injured family member, Niamh Kinsella, plays for the Claremorris Junior team. The three women and seven-year-old boy remain in hospital after Sunday morning’s collision in Kildare, when their car was hit by a vehicle travelling the wrong way on the motorway. Five teenagers died, and attention has returned to enforcement of dangerous driving, social media regulation, and State child-care provisions. A prayer vigil was held Friday at St Clare’s Church in Graiguecullen, Carlow.
