Georgia high school football team wins with stunning ending as time expires

A dramatic finish in east Georgia decided a high school football game on Friday, Sept. 11. At Ware County High School in Waycross, Georgia, the Ware County Gators appeared set to win after taking a 7-7 tie into the final seconds. With 2.3 seconds left, Ware County lined up for what would have been a 22-yard game-winning field goal. The kick attempt was blocked, ricocheted into the air, and Richmond Hill’s defensive line recovered the moment by forcing it into the hands of Elias Grant. Grant, a Liberty football commit, returned the ball 95 yards for the touchdown as Richmond Hill won 13-7. The Wildcats improved to 4-0; Ware County fell to 1-2.
