Prep roundup: Central boys, Strasburg girls finish third in Region 2B meet

Central's boys finished third in the Region 2B Track and Field Championships at Turner Ashby in Bridgewater on Tuesday, while Clarke County won the team title with 123 points; Page County had 89 and Central 80.5. Strasburg was sixth and Stonewall Jackson ninth. Devyn Stanley led Central by sweeping the 400 in 52.85 seconds and the high jump at 6-0, with Devon Hawkins placing third in the 100 (11.65) and long jump (19-9.25). Central also won the 4x400 relay in 3:35.83. On the girls side, Clarke County led with 150 points, Fort Defiance 132, and Strasburg 102, while Central was seventh (26) and Stonewall Jackson eighth (24).
