Tiger Woods to Miss All 2026 Major Events After DUI Arrest
Tiger Woods will miss all four major championships in 2026, marking the first time in his more-than-30-year major career that he has skipped every major in back-to-back seasons. The 50-year-old icon failed to register for the British Open by its deadline and does not qualify for an exemption at the U.S. Open at Shinnecock in June. The absence follows injuries that have hampered him for years and comes after his most recent DUI-related incident, when he was arrested in March in Jupiter, Florida for driving under the influence after a rollover crash in which two hydrocodone pills were found. Days later he traveled to Switzerland for rehab and returned to Florida about two weeks ago, with flight trackers showing a path between the two countries. Woods still owns 14 major titles and has not won a major since the 2019 Masters, making this a historic stretch for a golfer who reshaped the sport while contending with ongoing health and legal challenges.
