The Lights Fade, Vivid Sydney 2026 Leaves the City Glowing

As Vivid Sydney 2026 closes, the city remains alight from the festival’s sweeping light installations and performances. Across 23 nights, the event staged more than 200 experiences across five connected zones, including Circular Quay & The Rocks, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour, and the Inner City. More than 80% of events were free, with the entire Vivid Light Walk open to all. The program showcased international talent, including 41 acts making Australian debuts and appearances by figures such as Chloé Zhao, Sean Baker, and Jerry Saltz. Landmark works illuminated iconic sites from Yann Nguema’s Opera Mundi to Chris Levine’s Molecule of Light.
