Actor Selma Blair removed from plane by police after altercation
Actor Selma Blair was taken into custody after a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to New York, authorities said Monday, alleging physical abuse and injuries to two flight attendants. Police arrested Blair, 54, late Sunday night when the plane was at the gate at John F. Kennedy Airport, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said. Blair and one flight attendant were taken to a hospital for evaluation, according to the Port Authority. The FBI, which investigates assaults aboard aircraft, declined to provide details, citing ongoing investigation rules. A Blair representative said in a statement to media outlets that a medical emergency led to the alleged conduct. Blair, a disability-rights advocate diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018, has spoken publicly about health and past incidents involving flights.
