Aurigny aircraft standby plan aims to improve reliability
xCruzo Brief
Aurigny says it plans to keep one aircraft on standby next year to reduce disruption when flights are disturbed. For its 2027 summer schedule, the States-owned airline aims to keep Guernsey “well connected,” serving routes including London Gatwick, Jersey, Dublin, Edinburgh and Paris. Within the timetable, Aurigny is building extra spare capacity by holding one of its five aircraft in reserve to cover service issues. Chief Commercial Officer Philip Saunders said the airline wants to “work smarter” with its fleet to deliver a more reliable service. Aurigny reported that 86% of flights in 2026 arrived within 15 minutes of schedule.
