Blue Dart Marks 30 Years of Aviation Operations, Powering Speed, Reliability and Network Certainty
Blue Dart marks 30 years of aviation operations, reinforcing its leadership in India's time-definite express logistics. Based in Mumbai, the company has built an integrated express network that underpins speed, reliability, and predictable service across the country. Since 1996, its aviation arm has powered deliveries for life sciences, banking, manufacturing, automotive, e-commerce, and small- and medium-sized enterprises, while supporting vaccine and PPE distribution during the COVID-19 pandemic. That 30-year milestone comes as India pushes toward a $5 trillion economy, with Blue Dart central to fast-moving supply chains and cross-market connectivity.
Over three decades, Blue Dart's aviation network has handled more than 2.15 lakh flights and moved over 20.5 lakh tonnes of air cargo. Managing director Balfour Manuel praised the service's role in enabling next-day and under-24-hour deliveries, while captain Nikhil B. Ved highlighted safety, collaboration, and a future-ready network. The company operates a dedicated fleet of eight Boeing 737 and 757 cargo freighters, supported by pilots, engineers, and support teams. Blue Dart continues to expand its capacity and technology linkages to reinforce connectivity for businesses, institutions, and communities across India.
