Boeing secures 140-jet order from aircraft lessor Avolon (BA:NYSE)
xCruzo Brief
Boeing said aircraft lessor Avolon finalized an order for 140 737-10 jets, lifting Avolon’s 737 Max backlog to more than 240 aircraft. Boeing called it the largest single-aisle order by a leasing company. The 737-10 is the biggest 737 Max variant, with capacity up to 230 passengers and a range of 3,100 nautical miles. The deal comes about two weeks after the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration certified the 737-10, clearing the way for deliveries after years of delays. Boeing noted lessors have placed firm orders for more than 230 737-10 jets this year.
