Business class flight to Europe was great. The return trip was terrible
A business-class outbound flight from Kuala Lumpur to Istanbul on Turkish Airlines in mid-May is described as highly positive, while the return trip is portrayed as substantially worse. The outbound journey was on an Airbus A350 in a 1-2-1 Crystal cabin introduced in 2024, featuring a 56cm OLED in-flight entertainment screen, twin USB-C ports, and a sliding door creating a private suite, alongside a marble side table and wireless charging hotspot. The return was on an older Airbus A330-300 configured 2-2-2, with a lie-flat seat said to feel used, a fixed entertainment screen mounted on the seat ahead, and a more cramped privacy setup. The author notes Turkish operates multiple daily flights on the Istanbul–Bangkok route using different aircraft types, which affects the business-class seat experience.
