Jets rule out S Minkah Fitzpatrick (groin) vs. Packers
xCruzo Brief
The New York Jets ruled out safety Minkah Fitzpatrick for Sunday’s home opener against the Green Bay Packers. Fitzpatrick sustained a groin injury on the sixth play of New York’s Week 1 win over Tennessee and did not practice this week. The Jets listed him as out on Friday, and ESPN reported he is likely to miss at least one more game. Fitzpatrick, 29, joined the Jets in March after New York traded a 2026 seventh-round pick to the Miami Dolphins. He is a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro, with 21 interceptions and 690 tackles in 121 career games. Rookie Omar Cooper Jr. (ankle) was also ruled out.
