Joby Aviation's Dubai Launch Is the 1 Catalyst That Could Reverse a 73% Drop. Here's the Timeline -- and the Risk.
Joby Aviation’s Dubai push is emerging as a potential turning point after the company’s shares slid about 73% from their 52-week high and recently traded around $4.69. The electric eVTOL maker is working toward its first commercial air-taxi service in Dubai, with passenger operations planned before the end of 2026. Joby has an agreement with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority granting six years of exclusive operating rights after commercial launch. The initial network calls for four vertiports, including one near Dubai International Airport, where travel to Palm Jumeirah could drop from roughly 45 minutes by car to about 10 minutes by air. Still, certification, approvals, infrastructure, and operational readiness will determine timing and reliability.
