Reliable Robotics Completes Autonomous Cross-Country Flight
Reliable Robotics has completed its first autonomous cross-country flight using an upgraded Cessna 208B Caravan, a milestone the company says advances certification and commercial operations. The two-day, 1,375-nautical-mile journey began at Albuquerque International Sunport (KABQ), stopped in Shreveport, Louisiana (KDTN), and ended with a fully autonomous landing at Florida’s Kennedy Space Center (KTTS) for UP.Summit. The aircraft flew under IFR rules, performing autonomous taxi, takeoff, en route and landing through the National Airspace System, carrying hundreds of pounds of payload. A remote pilot at Reliable’s headquarters in Mountain View commanded the aircraft and communicated with ATC, with zero interventions reported from the onboard pilot.
