Rod Stewart Pauses Concert After Having To Be Administered With Oxygen Mid-Performance
Rod Stewart paused a US concert after he nearly fainted mid-performance, prompting a brief medical intervention. The 81-year-old was performing in West Valley City, Utah, when video shared by TMZ showed him bent over in pain and leaning on equipment to steady himself. An oxygen tank was brought onstage, and Stewart used it before telling the crowd, “The show must go on,” adding that he nearly fainted. He later asked if he could sit down, and The Independent reported he remained seated for the rest of the show. Stewart has not directly commented on the incident, but on Sunday he posted a Father’s Day update showing him with his wife Penny Lancaster and their children. Last week he cancelled a California date an hour before showtime due to an acute upper respiratory infection that resulted in laryngitis, saying his voice “is not.” He is on his One Last Time tour across the US.
