Where the Cannes Lions jet-setters eat, drink and stay on the Riviera
Cannes Lions sends global brands and A-listers to the French Riviera, and a luxury travel expert highlighted where the jet set is eating, drinking and staying this summer. Jack Ezon, founder and managing partner of Embark Beyond, said the French Riviera and Amalfi Coast are the strongest markets, with revenue up nearly 100% versus 2022. He reported that most high-demand hotels are fully booked, but pointed to “pockets” in Monte Carlo and Cannes and luxury options including Byblos in Saint-Tropez, Four Seasons Cap Ferrat and Hotel du Cap in Antibes. Ezon advised travelers to monitor last-minute cancellations. He also tied current interest to the reinvention of the Carlton with a $500 million investment, calling it pivotal in returning Cannes as a preferred base. He suggested combining it with Monte Carlo’s Maybourne Riviera and the atmosphere of Saint-Tropez, and noted that Provence is about two hours by car. The piece referenced recent celebrity travel, including George Clooney staying at Villa Gallici in Aix.
