Tui among worst airlines for UK flight delays, new analysis shows

TUI Airways placed among the worst UK airlines for flight punctuality in a new analysis based on Civil Aviation Authority data compiled by the Press Association. The airline averaged a 46-minute delay on one route, and its overall UK departures in 2025 were 20 minutes and 24 seconds behind schedule. Its least punctual route, with at least 100 flights, was Birmingham to the Greek island of Zante, also averaging 46 minutes late. Rory Boland of Which? Travel described the situation as unacceptable as fares rise, urging clearer communication of passengers’ rights and compensation eligibility during delays. TUI, owned by Tui Group, operates from more than 20 UK airports and is ranked fifth worst, while Air India recorded the poorest record for a second straight year at an average delay of 36 minutes and 36 seconds. Scandinavian Airlines had the best performance, averaging eight minutes late.
