Trump team is asking for companies to step up and handle deportation flights
The Trump team is asking for companies to step up and handle deportation flights as the Department of Homeland Security prepares to expand its removal aviation capabilities. A notice on the System for Award Management website says the government is seeking a contractor to provide flight operations, maintenance, and contractor logistics support for aircraft used for removal operations, voluntary repatriation, high-risk charter missions, crisis response, medical evacuations, and travel of senior officials. The contract work could occur in “remote, primitive, or austere environments,” and successful bidders must run two C-37B or equivalent Gulfstream 650ER aircraft and seven Boeing 737-700s or equivalent, 24/7 with short-notice tasks. The notice does not specify contract value. Companies have until July 22 to apply.
