Emirates’ Airbus A380 premium-economy push has quietly become a core “sweet spot” on Europe–Dubai routes as the airline expands the cabin across its widebody network. The carrier is rolling out premium economy throughout its fleet, with new deliveries of widebodies arriving already configured for the product. Emirates installs either 21 or 28 premium economy seats on its Airbus A350-900, using a seven-abreast layout, and it refurbished its Boeing 777-200LR, fitting 24 seats eight-abreast. On the backbone Boeing 777-300ER, Emirates plans to retrofit 71 aircraft, with 43 refurbished as of the article’s writing. The A380 is also central: 51 of 116 A380s have been retrofitted, including one high-density variant reduced to 569 seats from 615, shifting first class space to premium economy and maintaining 76 business seats.
