What we know about Laredo plane crash on Loop 20 in South Texas

Six people were aboard a Cessna 680A jet that crashed on Loop 20 in Laredo, Texas, around 10 p.m. CT Tuesday, killing one. The aircraft was en route from San José del Cabo, Mexico, to Austin, Texas, with final destination Austin. Loop 20 remained closed for most of the day Wednesday, with access roads also affected. Five police officers were treated for smoke inhalation; authorities withheld the victim's identity pending family notification. The National Transportation Safety Board said it is aware of the crash and gathering information; the cause has not yet been released.
