Angels' Ryan Johnson: Drawing start Thursday - CBS Sports

Angels right-hander Ryan Johnson is set to start Thursday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. The team had optioned Johnson to Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday, but recalled him three days later after multiple roster openings arose following the trade deadline. Johnson is expected to return to the rotation spot that previously belonged to Jose Soriano, who was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday. Over five starts from June 23 through July 19, Johnson posted a 2.52 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP. In his final two outings before being sent down, he allowed 13 earned runs on 14 hits and four walks across 7.2 innings.
