Tottenham loanee Sarr shines as Juventus beat Celta Vigo 2-1

Pape Matar Sarr, on loan from Tottenham Hotspur to Juventus, was a standout in the Italian club’s 2-1 comeback win over Celta Vigo on Thursday. The match was the second game of the Europa League’s league phase. Juventus’ midfield influence drew praise from Gazzetta dello Sport, which described the Senegal international as a potential “crucial player.” The outlet highlighted 88 touches, 65 successful passes and three interceptions—more than any teammate—along with six duels won and three shots (one blocked, one on target, one off). Sarr played 90 minutes in both Juventus Europa League matches this season, including contests against NEC and Celta Vigo. Juventus paid €2.5m for a one-season loan and can sign him permanently for €27.5m.
