Chevrolet Silverado Gets New V-8s and More Screens
The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado signals an evolutionary shift, expanding power and technology while preserving the model’s core identity. Chevrolet adds new V-8 engines to the lineup and offers seven trim levels that span from basic fleet variants to well-equipped upmarket versions. The truck remains a cornerstone of GM’s portfolio, serving as a backbone for many other GM pickups and SUVs. While the exterior design receives only modest updates, the Silverado gains more differentiation between trims through interior and technology choices. The plan is to sustain the Silverado’s status as a best-seller in GM’s lineup and a staple for commercial fleets. Inside, the base model now features a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster connected to a 16.3-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. Higher trims, such as ZR2 and High Country, add an 11.5-inch passenger display, along with a head-up display and a rear camera mirror. Chevrolet says the cabin offers more than 60 inches of screen space in total, underscoring its emphasis on information and connectivity. Exterior updates are subtle: a taller, upright front end with thin LED headlights, squared-off wheel arches, and more angular rear lighting, while Chevrolet maintains multiple cab configurations to suit various buyers.
