Chinese regulators tell Tesla to fix nearly 3 million cars

Chinese regulators have ordered Tesla to address safety issues on nearly 3 million vehicles in a major China recall. The company must add clearer warning labels for 2.98 million Model 3 and Model Y cars, specifically to better explain how to open the rear doors during emergencies when the vehicle loses power. The move follows concerns after electronically controlled doors were linked to fatal outcomes in crashes where occupants became trapped in burning vehicles. Tesla is also required to update software to automatically lower all windows during a collision. A separate recall affects 2.74 million cars with changes to the driver monitoring system, shifting from a steering-wheel torque sensor to an interior camera gaze-tracking approach.
